CLASSICAL CHINESE, WORLD FUSION

Embarking on her musical journey at the Affiliated Middle School of Tianjin Conservatory of Music in 1998, Dora’s passion for the bamboo flute ignited a lifelong dedication to mastering this ancient instrument. With a major in bamboo flute, she delved deep into the intricacies of its performance, mastering various styles and expanding her repertoire to include other traditional Chinese instruments such as xiao, xun, bawu, and hulusi.

Dora’s talent and dedication didn’t go unnoticed. In 2003, she clinched the Second Place Award in a prestigious national competition in China, marking her as one of the country’s rising stars in bamboo flute performance. Her exceptional skill set earned her invitations to Europe, where she showcased the mesmerizing sounds of the Chinese bamboo flute as a cultural ambassador, fostering intercultural exchange through music.

Graduating from the conservatory in 2008, Dora marked a significant milestone in her career with her inaugural solo recital, captivating audiences with her virtuosity and artistry. However, her journey didn’t stop there. In pursuit of new horizons, Dora immigrated to Canada, bringing with her a wealth of musical expertise and a burning desire to share the beauty of Chinese music with audiences worldwide.

In Canada, Dora founded the acclaimed ensemble, Melody of Bamboo Music, a band dedicated to celebrating the rich tradition of Chinese music while infusing it with contemporary flair. Together, they have graced the stages of major events across Canada, enchanting audiences with their evocative performances and spreading the enchanting sounds of the bamboo flute far and wide.

As Dora continues to enchant audiences with her mastery of the bamboo flute, her journey serves as a testament to the power of music to transcend borders and unite hearts. With each performance, she invites listeners on a transcendent musical voyage, bridging cultures and fostering understanding through the universal language of music.
