Dylan Hennessy is a Toronto-based artist whose obsession with a broad range of music has led him down a one-man band rabbit hole. Best known for his live-looping sets, Dylan crafts original renditions of classic and contemporary hits, as well as using a combination of guitar, bass, beatboxing and singing to make faithful recreations. As a Godin Guitars endorsee, versatility and variety is the key to the connection that has kept Dylan glued to writing and performing music for nearly 20 years.
In recent years, Dylan’s live abilities have lead him to open for acts such as Finger Eleven, I Mother Earth, MONOWHALES, and have taken him to some of Toronto’s most recognizable stages like Yonge-Dundas Square, MOD Club, The Phoenix, and The Horseshoe Tavern. He frequently tours across Quebec and eastern Canada, performing in countless pubs, clubs, independently organized showcases and festival performances. His looping abilities have taken him all the way to a 3rd place finish at the Indie Week Canada 2018 Finals out of over 200 artists, and have been featured on CBC Radio.
Dylan incorporates a wide array of tones and effects, and as much influence from as many styles as he can into his creations, where he’ll often write, record, produce and mix all the the elements of his songs in studio, and do it live in front of audiences. He tries to “make a guitar and vocals sound like as many things as possible”. His covers and originals contain a blend of RnB, Folk, Hip-Hop, Rock, Pop, Blues, and sometimes highly technical and unconventional guitar playing. Dylan is truly an eccentric power force.
