Crystal Lee is a private instructor and a freelance musician who performs, teaches, and explores a vast range of genres. She is enthusiastic about everything from the classics of Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart to top hits on the radio from artists like Dua Lipa, Sam Smith, and Loud Luxury.

Growing up in a musical family with a father who played violin and an older sister who played both violin and piano, Crystal’s musical career began early, and she took up piano at the age of 5 and violin at age 9. She spent the majority of her piano studies under the instruction of Andrea Battista, alongside theory instruction under Philip Corke. While learning violin, she studied under Mark Fujino, Natalie Mysko, and Corey Gemmell. She completed her grade 9 piano and grade 6 violin exams through the Royal Conservatory of Music, along with beginner to advanced rudiments, intermediate history, and keyboard harmony.

After highschool, she pursued her music studies further and received a Bachelor of Music degree from Humber College under the instruction of Drew Jurecka.

Throughout Crystal’s music career, she has used both instruments to compete in the Burlington Rotary Music Festival, the Peel Music Festival, the Toronto Kiwanis Festival, and the Canadian Chopin Festival. She was also a member of the Hamilton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra from ages 13 to 18 under conductors Glenn Mallory and Paul McCulloch.

Crystal now works as a freelance musician and performs in Toronto, Halton, Hamilton, Niagara, Kitchener/Waterloo, and surrounding areas. She has over 8 years of experience performing with various groups for weddings and events, and has recorded on various albums for artists such as Jeff Scott and the Liverpool Sessions, Andre Bisson, and Johannes Linstead. Crystal also played in the orchestra of various musicals, such as Heathers, The Little Mermaid, Annie, and Addams Family: The Musical.

In addition to her experience in the entertainment industry, Crystal has also spent the last 16 years teaching beginner to intermediate piano and violin students as well as beginner viola. Her students have successfully completed their Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) examinations multiple times and have competed in various music festivals within the GTA and surrounding areas. She is a certified beginner and intermediate instructor through the RCM.
