CLASSICAL, MODERN POP
American-Taiwanese harpist, Charlene Chin, believes in the research and sharing of contemporary harp music. She will soon perform with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra as principal harp.
A native of Bellevue, WA, Ms. Chin traveled to Toronto, pursing an undergrad at the Glenn Gould School of Music with internationally acclaimed harpist, Judy Loman and Heidi Elise Bearcroft. She returned to the United States at the Indiana University Jacob School of Music studying with Florence Sitruk who furthered her interests in contemporary music. These interests led to the creation of her harp duo, Duo XCIV, who won second prize at the Ceren Necipoğlu International Competition in Istanbul.
Ms. Chin has performed with orchestras such as the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, National Ballet of Canada, Manitoba Chamber Orchestra and more throughout North America.
Outside of music, she spends her time baking and seeking pet therapy, generously donated by the kind outdoor cats in her neighborhood.
